Tattersalls Online Graduates Shine at Glorious Goodwood

Tattersalls Online graduates enjoyed an outstanding week at Glorious Goodwood with a trio of winners sourced from Europe’s leading online thoroughbred sales platform. 

The first day of racing on the South Downs saw 6,000 guineas purchase SING THE BLUES produce a determined performance to land the six-furlong fillies’ handicap for trainer Martin Dunne. The daughter of SPACE BLUES remains unbeaten for new connections with two wins from two runs after being sold by Somerville Lodge to Gary Downie in the recent Online June Sale.

Success continued on Wednesday when Tattersalls Online graduates filled the first three places in the Buccellatti Handicap Stakes ran over five furlongs. Leading the way was the fast-improving filly NAANA’S SHADOW who gained her fourth win of the season for trainer Katie Scott. A 20,000 guineas purchase by Summerstorm Bloodstock in last year’s Online November Sale, the daughter of HAVANA GREY has earned over £100,000 in prize money with black type targets firmly on the horizon.

Runner up was U S S CHARLESTON, remarkably a graduate of the same Online November Sale who was sold to Wood Farm for 4,800 guineas from LDS Bloodstock. Finishing only a neck behind in third was MISS YECHANCE, the headline act of the Online June Pop-Up Sale in 2025. The three-year-old filly by COTAI GLORY was purchased by Royal Chance Bloodstock from EMW Equine for 250,000 guineas and has won twice this winter at Meydan. 

The most impressive performance of the week came on Friday from DEFIANTLY who won the Coral Goodwood Handicap over two and a half miles in commanding fashion. Offered in the 2024 Online August Sale as an unraced two-year-old from Brian Meehan’s Manton Lodge Stables, the son of KAMEKO caught the attention of trainer Joseph O’Brien who bought the horse for 41,000 guineas. Now owned by Australia Bloodstock, the four-year-old will surely have valuable targets to aim for down under.

The next sale to take place on Tattersalls Online is the Online August Sale on Monday 10th August – Tuesday 11th August and the full catalogue will be published on Tuesday 4th August.
