Six Wildcard Lots Added to Tattersalls Online October Sale

A sextet of wildcard entries have been added to the Tattersalls Online October Sale bringing the catalogue to a record-breaking number of 96 lots for the sale, which will take place on 19th – 20th October on the Tattersalls Online platform.

The latest additions are headlined by three-time winner THE CITY’S PHANTOM, consigned by Richard Spencer’s Sefton Lodge Stables. The son of FREE EAGLE finished a close second in a Class 3 at Newmarket last month and was previously third behind CADILLAC in a valuable handicap at Epsom on Oaks Day, and he will be offered with an official rating of 80.

Continuing the Richard Spencer theme, his first Royal Ascot winner RAJASINGHE is the covering sire of another of the wildcard lots. The Group 2 Coventry Stakes winner has made a fine start to his stud career with a leading ratio of winners to runners and the TS Equine consigned mare IRA BREVIS FUROR has already produced a blacktype performer in PENSIERO D’AMORE, a dual Listed winner and Group 2 runner up. She comes from a family stacked with blacktype performers and is a half-sister to Group 3 winner MATCHWINNER and Listed winner MOON A LISA.

Another wildcard lot boasting a strong pedigree is the Tinniscart House consigned GRASSHOPPER TIME, the five-year old son of CALIFET is a half-brother to multiple Grade 1 placed hurdler COLOUR SQUADRON and to Grade 2 placed hurdler MILAN NATIVE and has shown promise in his own fledging career, having been second on his most recent start in a maiden hurdle at Tramore earlier this month.

The remaining wildcards comprise the four-year old JACK HOBBS filly BRAUNTON BURROWS, a daughter of multiple Grade 3 winning mare LAETITIA who will be offered in training by TS Equine, a yearling filly by ZOUSTAR consigned by Bearstone Stud and the Devauden Court Stables consigned SHABANO.

The bumper catalogue has received widespread support from 82 individual consignors from Britain, France and Ireland and includes drafts from top Flat and National Hunt trainers and consignors including Mick Appleby, Baroda Stud, Ralph Beckett, George Boughey, Jane Chapple-Hyam, Robert Cowell, Gavin Cromwell, Harry Eustace, Jessica Harrington, Ger Lyons, Willie Mullins, the National Stud, Ed Walker and Sir Mark Todd amongst others.
