Tattersalls Online is delighted to report the successful sale of “Spirit Horse”, the striking sculpture created by acclaimed sculptor Penny Hardy to raise fund for DoItForBrodie Community Interest Company (C.I.C.), which sold for £4,000 to Erika Gilliar. Offered as part of a special charitable consignment, “Spirit Horse” attracted widespread attention, reflecting the strength of the support for the cause it represents.Following the sale, the purchaser commented:“The work of Brodie’s mum is so admirable in what she has done and continues to do to raise funds for this cause. Horses bring a huge amount of joy to our lives in so many ways, and supporting this impassioned cause was very important.”Artist Penny Hardy, also speaking on behalf of Emma Webb, founder of DoItForBrodie C.I.C., was delighted with today’s result:“Emma and I are truly thrilled to have raised £4,000 with the sale of the Spirit Horse, wonderfully supported by Tattersalls Online. We are so pleased as 100% of this amazing winning bid will go towards doitforbrodie.com, a C.I.C. enabling Emma to carry on with her vital network supporting young people struggling with their mental health. DoItForBrodie has turned deep grief into something positive, opening conversations, offering support and making sure no one feels alone in their struggles. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this happen.”Today’s auction coincided fittingly with the commencement of Emma Webb’s ‘Bolt to Badminton’. She embarks on an extraordinary 140-mile walk from Newport to Badminton Horse Trials pulling her companion ‘Miles’, a 90kg life-size resin horse. The pair are undertaking the journey to raise further funds and awareness for suicide prevention and youth mental health, in memory of her daughter Brodie Morgan. The final price of £4,000 stands as a testament to the generosity of the Gilliar family and the wider racing community for its willingness to support meaningful fundraising efforts. Tattersalls Online is proud to have been able to play a part in supporting this initiative and extend its sincere thanks to Penny Hardy for her contribution, as well as to all participants.Follow Emma’s journey on Instagram at @misswebbie_doitforbrodie and any further donations welcome to be made at www.doitforbrodie.co.uk.
