17 Sep 2025 Share on X Share on Facebook Renato Tops Tattersalls Online September Sale at 80,000 Guineas Three-year-old colt RENATO led proceedings at the Tattersalls Online September Sale this afternoon when realising 80,000 guineas. The colt was being sold to dissolve a partnership and was bought by former Italian part-owner Beppa E Gigi S.R.L. Rated 89 by Timeform, the son of leading sire SEA THE STARS has been placed in four of his seven starts to date on both the turf and all-weather. A full brother to Group 2 Lydia Tesio winner CALL ME LOVE, the Marco Botti-trained colt is out of a winning daughter of Group 1 Prix de la Foret heroine FIELD OF HOPE.Consignor Marco Botti commented following the sale: “It worked out quite well for the owners who had decided to dissolve their partnership and the online sale was a quick and easy way to do this. In the end, he sold well. He will go to Italy now. There was quite a lot of interest in him and he had been vetted many times.” A regular user of the Tattersalls Online platform, Botti went on to say:“I find the platform very good and it works quite well. It is a very good system and it is only going to get better. It was the first time this owner did the bidding himself but he found it very easy. It went smoothly and he said the team at Tattersalls were very professional. He enjoyed the experience.” Also proving popular was the lightly-raced two-year-old BAKER BLUE, one of six lots consigned by Jessica Harrington’s Commonstown Stables in the sale. Sold for 31,000 guineas to Fortune Bloodstock, the son of ARDAD was second on his latest start at Cork earlier this month and hails from the family of multiple Group 1 winner INTEGRAL.Other lots finding favour in the sale included Harry Eustace’s Highfield Stables consigned three-year-old gelding BABYLON who fetched 23,000 guineas to the bid of Kuwait-based Hussain Aldossary and two-year-old winner AWAAFI who realised 20,000 guineas to Qatari-based Mohammed Al Khalifa, offered by Richard Fahey’s Musley Bank Stables.The Tattersalls Online September Sale realised a turnover of 499,100 guineas for 88 lots sold at an average price of 5,672 guineas. Over 320 bidders registered for the sale from countries including Australia, Belgium, Britain, France, Ireland, India, Italy, Germany, Malta, The Netherlands, Serbia, Zambia as well as bidders from throughout the Gulf region.Unsold lots remain available and offers can be made through the Make An Offer facility on the Tattersalls Online website.
