Record Number of 89 Lots Catalogued for the Tattersalls Online September Sale

The catalogue for the Tattersalls Online September Sale has been published featuring a record number of 89 quality entries for the online auction which takes place on 13 – 14 September. A wide variety of lots are on offer, featuring 72 horses in/out of training from both Flat and National Hunt disciplines, eight yearlings, five broodmares, and three stores as well as a Breeding Right to PROFITABLE.

The 64 horses in training are headlined by high-class performer LORD PROTECTOR who is consigned by Ralph Beckett’s Kimpton Down Stables. A five-time winner over a mile to 1m 2f on the Flat, the German-bred son of PASTORIUS was an impressive winner at Sandown in July and is being offered with a current Timeform rating of 105.

Roger Varian’s Carlburg Stables will offer two lots, highlighted by recent 20-length novice race winner SPECTACULAR STYLE who now boasts a Timeform rating of 87. By Champion Sire FRANKEL, the three-year old had previously finished runner-up in all three of his career starts before bursting on to the scene with his emphatic Hamilton success. He is offered alongside the 73-rated LITTLE HUG who has been placed in two of her four career starts and is bred on the prolific INVINCIBLE SPIRIT/GALILEO cross.

French trainer Hugo Merienne returns to the platform once again with exciting three-year old hurdler SULTAN PIERJI. The son of ECTOT broke his maiden tag over obstacles at Fontainebleau in April and most recently placed second in the Listed Prix Des Platanes on 2 September at Auteuil. Fellow Lamorlaye based trainer Andrew Hollinshead brings French flat form to the sale with GET SET, a six-time winner from 7f to 1m 4f who boasts a current French rating of 38 (84).

Park House Stables, the home of trainer Andrew Balding, consigns a pair of horses headed by the Listed-placed GROUNDBREAKER on behalf of Godolphin. The son of OASIS DREAM broke his maiden tag at Doncaster last year before finishing fourth in the Golden Gates Handicap at Royal Ascot a few months later. Balding also offers the Rabbah Bloodstock owned RAKNAH, a two-year old filly by leading first season sire BLUE POINT out of a half-sister to G1 winner MARZELLINE, who most recently placed third on the 6 September over a mile.

There are several exciting opportunities for Flat and National Hunt breeders amongst the five broodmares and six fillies offered out of training in the sale. Brook Stud consigns MAWQED, a daughter of INVINCIBLE SPIRIT who is from the black-type stacked family of G1 placed MARAAHEL. She is offered in foal to RAJASINGHE who boasts an 80% winners to runners ratio from his first crop of two-year olds. National Hunt breeders will find attractive breeding prospect WESTERN JAZZ offered by Yellowford Farm. She is out of a half-sister to Grade 1 winner EMPIRE OF DIRT and Grade 3 winner PANTHER CLAW.

Among the trio of stores available for selection is a bay filly by WESTERNER consigned by Browne Brothers Bloodstock out of the Grade 2 placed chaser CIVENA and a half-sister to BELLA CIVENA who was a cosy hurdle winner on her only start to date.

The bumper catalogue has received widespread support from 70 individual consignors from the UK, Ireland and France and includes drafts from top Flat and National Hunt trainers including Andrew Balding, Baroda Stud, Ralph Beckett, Jim Bolger, Karl Burke, Peter Chapple-Hyam, Henry de Bromhead, Harry Eustace, William Jarvis, Jessica Harrington, Alice Haynes, Jamie Osborne, James Tate, Ed Walker, Willie Mullins amongst many others.
