Paul has been assisting his father, Allan Smith, for the last 20 years and has recently taken over the license in his own name after many years of success together.”On using the Tattersalls Online platform, Frisby added:“For someone who still relies on a catalogue rather than an iPad for most sales, I approached today’s Online Sale with a degree of apprehension! The support from Katherine Sheridan at Tattersalls Online was excellent and the whole process of bidding and buying online was simple and straightforward. Pre-sale vetting and good photos and videos give buyers tremendous confidence in the whole process which is uncomplicated and very efficient.”Other popular lots among the horses in training section included five-time winner BRIGHT, consigned by DML Racing who fetched 47,000 guineas to Danny Kearns and high-class handicapper OLD COCK offered by Bethell Racing who realised 26,000 guineas when purchased by Northgate Lodge Stud. The daughter of the multiple Group 1 winning freshman sire is a half-sister to five winners including Listed winner SMUGGLER’S MOON. Stud Manager at Forenaghts Stud, Caoimhe Doherty, was thrilled with the sale and commented afterwards: “This was our first time selling a yearling online and I am delighted with the result and how smooth and easy the whole process was. I had plenty of phone calls and emails over the past two days and obviously, with the vetting beforehand, it makes the sale seamless and more transparent. I will definitely be using the platform to sell yearlings again.”The Tattersalls Online October Sale realised a turnover of 445,800 guineas for 62 lots sold at an average price of 7,190 guineas.
