97 Lots Catalogued for Tattersalls Online February Sale

97 lots have been catalogued for the Tattersalls Online February Sale taking place on Tuesday 17^th February – Wednesday 18^th February. The catalogue can be viewed online at  www.tattersallsonline.com and is headlined by The Southern Hemisphere Session in collaboration with Inglis Digital Australia.

Comprising 72 horses in and out of training, nine broodmares, six yearlings, five two-year-olds, three breeding rights, two southern hemisphere bred foals and one stallion share, the catalogue features high quality drafts from 71 individual consignors from across Britain, Ireland and France.

The Southern Hemisphere Session features the three-in-one package of the well-bred mare MORALESS who is out of a half-sister to HIGH CHAPARRAL. She is being sold in foal to champion first season sire STARMAN with a weanling colt by TOO DARN HOT, all bred to southern hemisphere time. Also in the session is an attractive September-born filly by TOO DARN HOT who is a half-sister to Group 3 winner ABEL HANDY and Group 3 placed WOODY CREEK. 

An eye-catcher of the catalogue is high-class national hunt performer GALIA DES LITEAUX from Dan Skelton’s Lodge Hill Stables. The daughter of SADDLER MAKER has enjoyed success at the highest levels including victory in the Grade 2 Hampton Novices’ Chase. She also placed second in the Grade 3 Classic Chase at Warwick as well as fourth in the Grade 1 Mildmay Novices’ Chase at Aintree and achieved a career high BHA chase rating of 146.

Another talented national hunt performer on offer is the seven-year-old mare ARCLIGHT consigned by Nicky Henderson’s Seven Barrows. A winner under both codes, the daughter of CHAMPS ELYSEES is a dual Listed chase winner and is also Listed placed over hurdles. She boasts a current BHA rating of 136 over fences and 121 over hurdles. 

Other highlights among the horses in training on offer include:

• Promising filly FINALLY ESCAPED who was second on her racecourse debut over a mile at Newcastle on 10^thFebruary for Roger Fell.

• Lightly raced three-year-old HORWICH from Clive Cox’s Beechdown Farm Stables, a five-length winner of a novice contest at Wolverhampton last month. 

• Timeform 88-rated stayer NORTHWEST PASSAGE, a 15-length handicap winner at Salisbury in the autumn.

• Lingfield novice winning three-year-old MARSEILLAN, a half-brother to three black type performers with consistent recent form. 

• Charlie Clover’s progressive sprinter STATE OF MADNESS, a winner over six furlongs at Newcastle in December and third on his most recent start.

The sale also provides the opportunity to invest in some exciting stallions including a breeding right to proven Group 1 sire ARDAD. A leading sire of two-year-olds by prize money and winners in 2025, the Overbury Stud resident is the sire of three-time Group 1 winner PERFECT POWER and last year’s promising juvenile ARDISIA. Other stallion investments include a 1/50^th stallion share in rising young sire NANDO PARRADO as well as breeding rights to A’ALI and the recently relocated FAR ABOVE who stands at Allevamento Massimo Farina in Italy for the 2026 season. 

David Armstrong’s Highfield Farm make their debut as a consignor with Tattersalls Online this month and are strongly represented by a trio of quality broodmares featuring the beautifully bred LEVER PARK, a daughter of CAMACHO and a half-sister to highly decorated sprinters TAX FREE and INXILE. 

Another attractive breeding prospect is Suzy Smith’s STRIKE THE FLINT, a daughter of Listed winning and Grade 2 placed hurdler MATERIAL WORLD. By SHIROCCO, she is offered in foal to up and coming national hunt sire JACK HOBBS. Meanwhile James Grassick Elevage will offer SOTCHI, a half-sister Gordon Elliott’s prolific black type mare WODHOOH.

The five two-year-olds in the sale include progeny by both proven and promising young sires BLUE POINT, SPACE BLUES and TERRITORIES whilst the six yearlings catalogued are by DINK, KAMEKO, ORDER OF ST GEORGE, STRADIVARIUS and SUBJECTIVIST.
