64 Lots Catalogued for the Tattersalls Online August Sale

The catalogue for the Tattersalls Online August Sale has been published featuring 64 quality lots for the online auction which takes place on 16 – 17 August. The diverse catalogue which can be viewed on the Tattersalls Online website includes 48 horses in/out of training from both Flat and National Hunt disciplines, eight broodmares and eight stores. 


A quality selection of 42 horses in training feature in the sale which is features highly rated three-year-old gelding SERAPHIC consigned by French trainer, Hugo Merienne. The of son of Champion sire DUBAWI is out of the Listed placed GALILEO mare ELLE GALANTE, making him a half-brother to Cheltenham Grade 1 Triumph Hurdle winner PENTLAND HILLS and Group 2 Royal Ascot winner BALIOS. He is being offered following an outstanding 30 length win at Clairefontaine on 27th July and with a current French rating of 60.


Ralph Beckett’s Kimpton Down Stables will offer two lots, highlighted by the Listed placed three-year-old filly UNDERSTATED who boasts a current Timeform rating of 95. By NATHANIEL, she was a winner over 1m 2f in April and subsequently ran second in the Listed Height of Fashion Stakes at Goodwood over the same distance. She is offered alongside LATIN VERSE, a three-year-old gelding by POSTPONED who was a winner this season over 1m 4f and is a close relative of Group 1 performers LOVING DREAM, BRIAN BORU and Champion Group 1 sire WORKFORCE. 


William Haggas’ Somerville Lodge consigns DESERT VOICE on behalf of Rabbah Bloodstock Ltd. The lightly raced daughter of INVINCIBLE SPIRIT has had two wins from only four starts over 6f - 7f and is offered with a current Timeform rating of 80. Recent two-year-old winner MC LOVEN, victorious on Friday 4th August at Wolverhampton over 5f, is offered in the draft of Kevin Philippart de Foy. By Godolphin’s world Champion sprinter HARRY ANGEL, the lightly raced colt is out of the INVINCIBLE SPIRIT mare LOVER’S KNOT, herself a half-sister to Group 1 winner BLAIR HOUSE.


Ben Brookhouse offers PHANTOM GOLD following an impressive 10 length bumper win on his most recent start at Newton Abbot. The four-year-old gelding is out of dual Listed winner LEGACY GOLD who also placed third in the Grade 1 David Nicholson Mares Hurdle at Cheltenham. Another bumper performer of note is John Hanlon’s FORT RANDALL. The four-year-old son of VALIRANN would have gone into many notebooks after his eye-catching performance at Stratford when he was placed second to a well-regarded winner.


There are several exciting opportunities for breeders amongst the eight broodmares and six fillies offered out of training in the sale. Altenbach Bloodstock consign Listed winning mare LORELEI ROCK who is offered in foal to Whitsbury Manor Stud’s young sire sensation HAVANA GREY. The four-year-old daughter of CAMACHO was herself a winner on debut at two and comes from the family of multiple Group 3 winner REGIME and Listed winner SALUT D’AMOUR.


Juddmonte offer unraced three-year-old filly WARRIOR MAID. By SEA THE MOON, she is out of the FRANKEL mare EUROPIUM and hails from a prolific Juddmonte family laden with black-type performers, including Champion Group 1 winning mare PROMISING LEAD, the dam of Group 1 placed LAUREL and PHANTOM THIEF, as well as Champion Group 1 winner BANKS HILLS and the outstanding Group 1 producing sire DANSILI. 


Three mares are presented with foals at foot including the Castlehyde Stud consigned SUMMER VALLEY with a colt foal by ALMANZOR and offered in foal to GHAIYYATH. PIVOTAL mare TRAINNAH, a half-sister to JAMES GARFIELD, is offered by Kirtlington Stud with a filly foal by ECTOT at foot and Thomastown Stud consign young mare ORMUZ with a colt foal by MASKED MARVEL at foot. 


Amongst the eight stores in the sale, Marie Harding’s Glen Stables presents a draft of three which features a filly by CALIFET who is out a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner GO NATIVE and Listed winner and Grade 3 placed KILLER KANE. Other sires represented in the store offerings include ELUSIVE PIMPERNEL, KINGSTON HILL, LAURO, LEADING LIGHT, POLICY MAKER, SHANTARAM and SOLDIER OF FORTUNE. 


The sale has received widespread support from 44 individual consignors and includes drafts from top Flat and National Hunt trainers including Brian Meehan, Brian Barr, Ralph Beckett, Karl Burke, Ed Dunlop, Jessica Harrington, John Hanlon, William Jarvis, William Knight, Willie McCreery, Ian Williams, Stuart Williams, and Roger Varian amongst many others.
