169 Lots Catalogued for Tattersalls Online August Sale

The Tattersalls Online August Sale is now available at www.tattersallsonline.com featuring 169 lots and is highlighted by a collaboration with Inglis Digital Australia which sees the highly progressive three-year-old stayer MY BALLYQUINN offered in the sale. The largest online thoroughbred sale to be held in Europe this year comprises 145 horses in and out of training, 12 broodmares, six stores, five yearlings and a 1/50^thStallion Share in the exciting sire SOLDIER’S CALL.

MY BALLYQUINN heads to the sale in excellent form, having won his handicap debut over 1m 3f at Hamilton in May before progressing to victory over 1m 6f at York in June. The David O’Meara-trained son of NEW BAY was most recently a close second in a Class 3 handicap at Sandown on 23 July and is currently rated 97 by Timeform. Bred to stay, he hails from the family of Group 1 Ascot Gold Cup winner and Champion Stayer PAPINEAU.

Another high-class performer is Group 3 winning sprinter THUNDERBEAR, one of two lots consigned by Jack Davison Racing. Rated 105 by Timeform, the five-time winning son of KODI BEAR also struck at Listed level in 2025 and was most recently seen in the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Ralph Beckett’s Kimpton Down Stables offers a draft of five horses including the promising RICHIE’S ROCKET. A winner over seven furlongs at two, the son of NEW BAY holds a current BHA rating of 88 after competing at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood this summer. Also featured is Timeform 84-rated filly RENEWAL, a daughter of WOOTTON BASSETT out of French Listed winner FRESH TERMS.

Leading supporters of Tattersalls Online, Jessica Harrington’s Commonstown Stables offer eight lots led by Timeform 90-rated CONFUSED. A maiden winner on his second start at Gowran Park in June, the three-year-old by CALYX is joined by improving miler BOFA BEACH who was most recently seen finishing third at Naas last month.

Another leading consignor represented in the catalogue is Baroda Stud who offer a strong draft of six, including four lots consigned on behalf of Ace Stud. Highest rated of the quartet is three-year-old colt WINDBREAKER, a son of SEA THE STARS who finished runner-up at Wolverhampton in June.

A draft of six high-class performers is also on offer from Gordon Elliott’s Cullentra House Stables including hurdle and chase winner LUCKY LYREEN as well as IHRB 125-rated hurdler WENDROCK who is being offered on behalf of Gigginstown House Stud.

Other highlights of the horses in training include:

• Timeform 95-rated three-year-old ALLEGRESSE from Andrew Balding’s Kingsclere Training Stables who was unbeaten over a mile at two and is out of a half-sister to Group 1 St Leger winner ELDAR ELDAROV.
• Three lots offered on behalf of Wathnan Racing including dual winner ARTAGNAN who boasts a current BHA rating of 86.
• Five-year-old gelding STEEL TIGER, a two-time winner for trainer Simon and Ed Crisford and raced by Rabbah Racing.
• Several last time out winners including two-year-old filly HAVANA GIFT as well as LUMINOUS WARRIOR, PORT GEORGE and SAPPHIRE DREAM.

The 12 broodmares include two lots from Castlehyde Stud headed by CANDIDLY, a daughter of Group 3 placed NELL GWYN, herself a full sister to ROCK OF GIBRALTAR, offered in foal to leading first season sire BLACKBEARD. Joining her in the consignment is CARRIAGE, a half-sister to three black type performers who is offered in foal to six-time Group 1 winner AUGUSTE RODIN.

Other breeding highlights include FAORA, consigned by Castledillon Stud and offered in foal to the upwardly mobile SANDS OF MALI. Out of dual Group 3 winner LEMONETTE, the daughter of HARD SPUN is also a half-sister to stakes placed BASHA. Meanwhile, SOTCHI, a half-sister to this year’s Grade 1 Cheltenham Festival winner WODHOOH, is being offered carrying to Grade 1 producing French sire CHOEUR DU NORD.

Also on offer is a 1/50^th share in SOLDIER’S CALL, providing two nominations to the stallion in each Northern Hemisphere breeding season from 2027 onwards. Now standing at Mickley Stud, the former Champion two-year-old has already enjoyed a memorable season highlighted by precocious juvenile ADONIUS, who was most recently second in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes, and Listed winning two-year-old BATTITO. 

The five yearlings in the sale are by stallions including EL CABALLO, MOSTAHDAF and TRIPLE TIME whilst the six stores represent sires including FLINTSHIRE, PLANTEUR and RULER OF THE WORLD.
