Stallion Share in Siyouni Tops Tattersalls Online December Sale at 175,000 Guineas

A 1/50th Stallion Share in the Aga Khan Stud’s Champion sire SIYOUNI led proceedings in the Tattersalls Online December Sale when realising 175,000 guineas to TCT Bloodstock.

Responsible for 46 Group winners to date, including the likes of ST MARK’S BASILICA, PADDINGTON, LAURENS and SOTTSASS, the Haras de Bonneval resident has sired more Guineas winners than any other active stallion and will stand at a fee of €150,000 in 2026.

The second highest price in the sale saw a Breeding Right to Darley’s up-and-coming young sire PALACE PIER realise 80,000 guineas when purchased by A. C. Elliott as agent. Represented by his first crop of runners this year, the Dalham Hall Stud resident has already made a successful start to his stallion career by siring eight black type performers led by Group 2 Lowther Stakes heroine ROYAL FIXATION and Group 3 Solario Stakes winner A BIT OF SPIRIT.

Another highlight of the catalogue was the Breeding Right to SANDS OF MALI which was the subject to fierce competition and was eventually sold to Roalso for 74,000 guineas. Having made a breakthrough at the highest level when siring this year’s Group 1 Commonwealth Cup winner TIME FOR SANDALS, the proven young stallion has since been bought by Yeomanstown Stud where he will stand at a fee of €22,500 in 2026.

Leading the horses in training section was the Gainsborough Thoroughbreds consigned filly SUZETTE DEFOYE who fetched 45,000 guineas to the bid of the Suzette Defoye Partnership. A winner over a mile, the well-bred daughter of SEA THE MOON is a half-sister to Group 1 Grosser Preis von Berlin winner SIMCA MILLE and comes from the family of Champion filly SARAFINA.

Attracting early attention in the sale was two-year-old colt ALMA DE FUEGO from Oliver Cole’s Whatcombe Stables who sold for 25,000 guineas to Tattersalls’ Central and Eastern European representative, Tomas Janda. Rated 65 by Timeform, the son of Group 1 producing sire PHOENIX OF SPAIN finished fourth on his most recent start last month at Lingfield.

A lively afternoon of bidding among the broodmares in the catalogue saw DAZZLING BEAUTY come out on top when sold to Medaki Investments for 30,000 guineas. A daughter of DUBAWI, she is a sister to three black-type performers including Listed winning and Group 2 placed duo SUBLIMIS and LILLIAN RUSSELL. The Flintstone Bloodstock consigned mare was offered in foal to Darley’s promising young sire PINATUBO.

Also proving popular among the breeding stock was the Newtown Stud consigned DELPHINUS who was knocked down to Italian-based Jacopo Brischetto for 14,000 guineas. The daughter of SEA THE STARS was offered in foal to SPACE BLUES.
