Marchogion Headlines 183 Lots in Tattersalls Online September Sale

The catalogue for the Tattersalls Online September Sale is now available to view at www.tattersallsonline.comand features 183 lots including 147 horses in and out of training, 23 broodmares, 6 yearlings, 4 stores, one foal, a Breeding Right to COTAI GLORY and a Stallion Share in KODI BEAR.

Headlining the catalogue is progressive three-year-old colt MARCHOGION who boasts widespread appeal following his most recent success in a competitive Class 3 handicap at Chester where he defeated his rivals by almost four lengths. Currently rated 106 by Timeform, the talented son of Champion Sire MEHMAS now boasts three wins over six furlongs on good to firm ground, as well as on the all-weather, and is being offered with a career-high BHA rating of 97 by Andrew Balding’s Kingsclere Training Stables.

Willie Mullins’ Closutton Stables is represented by three lots including the IHRB 139-rated hurdler RUNCOK. A winner of a Punchestown maiden hurdle in February, the lightly-raced five-year-old has made a bright start to his career over fences having scored at Tipperary in July.

Jessica Harrington’s Commonstown Stables consign a draft of seven lots including recent Leopardstown maiden winner FALLS OF ACHARN, a son of SEA THE MOON out of Group 2 winner PARVANEH, DAARY who is a placed two-year-old colt by WOOTTON BASSETT and BAKER BLUE, a multiple placed two-year-old son of proven Group 1 sire ARDAD.

Elsewhere, the quartet on offer from Gordon Elliott’s Cullentra Stables features IHRB 129-rated LIGHTKEEPER who was most recently a winner over fences earlier this week at Perth as well as the Grade 2 placed RAINBOW TRAIL.

Ben Brookhouse offers the exciting two-year-old ONE AND GONE who ran a big race on debut at Ripon last month when finishing second, only being run down late on by the odds-on favourite.

The catalogue features numerous last time out winners including GENIE IN A BOTTLE, a winner over 1300m at Chantilly consigned by Bansha House Stables, Class 3 chase winner IN THE AIR who is part of a dispersal from Bind Equine National Hunt, and OVER SPICED, a winner over five furlongs at Leicester yesterday for Grace Harris Racing.

This sale offers a rare opportunity to purchase a stallion share in recent Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes winning sire KODI BEAR. Already the sire of Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes winner LEOVANNI and Group 2 Railway Stakes winner GO BEARS GO, KODI BEAR re-emphasised his consistency for producing top-class two-year-olds with the success of LIFEPLAN in York’s recent feature juvenile contest.

Also set to attract the attention of breeders is a Breeding Right to Tally-Ho Stud’s proven Group 1 sire COTAI GLORY who celebrated another top-level winner recently when EXCELLENT TRUTH landed the Grade 1 Diana Stakes at Saratoga.

Among the 23 broodmares in the sale, New England Stud consign the regally-bred NEW ROMANCE, a daughter of DUBAWI out of the Group 2 Middleton Stakes winner and Group 1 placed BEAUTIFUL ROMANCE. A half-sister to the high-class ROMIEU, she hails from the family of Group 1 winners STARLUST and MASTERCRAFTSMAN.

Leading consignors Baroda Stud will offer a draft of five lots which includes four mares in foal to top-class sprinter SHAQUILLE whilst broodmares are also being offered in foal to promising and proven stallions such as BRADSELL, CATURRA, KOOL KOMPANY, RAJASINGHE and this year’s young sire sensation STARMAN.

Among the national hunt-bred broodmares, the Beswick Brothers Bloodstock-consigned MIL ET UNE NUI FLO is already a proven black type producer being the dam of Listed hurdle winner and Grade 1 runner-up HIGH CLASS HERO. The winning daughter of TURGEON is half-sister to Listed placed hurdler MADEMOISELLE LOUNA and is offered in foal to leading national hunt sire MAXIOS.

Sires represented by the six yearlings in the sale include ALKUMAIT, LUCKY VEGA and NANDO PARRADO whilst the four stores catalogued are by ELUSIVE PIMPERNEL, PILLAR CORAL, TELESCOPE and TERRITORIES.

The Tattersalls Online September Sale has received widespread support from over 100 individual consignors from Great Britain, Ireland and France including drafts from Alne Park Stud, Ralph Beckett, Michael Bell, Ed Dunlop, Harry Eustace, Richard Fahey, James Ferguson, Gainsborough Thoroughbreds, Richard Hannon, Houghton Bloodstock, Eve Johnson Houghton, Emma Lavelle, James Owen, Sir Mark Prescott, George Scott, Paddy Twomey and Archie Watson among many others.
