Dawn Light Cave (IRE) B.M.

Dawn Light Cave failed to complete in two starts between the flags last season on quicker surfaces but showed that she returned a stronger mare this term, when winning a mares maiden at Borris House late last month. The daughter of Court Cave took a notable step forward on her re-appearance run and looked suited by the softer ground conditions. This mare travelled in mid-division and produced a good jump at the final fence, to gamely defeat Shroughmore Lass who had the benefit of recent race fitness having finished runner-up on two occasions. Given the improvement which she has shown since last season, she should be able to take a further step-up in the near future.
